Management of Fatigue Policy

OUR VISION

That our work force and those affected by our activities are not placed at risk due to fatigue.

OUR BELIEFS

We believe that:

  •   We have a duty to our employees, their families and our customers to avoid excessive time demands upon them.
  •   Managing working hours is essential to eliminate the risk of fatigue.

OUR COMMITMENT

We will

  •   In accordance with the HSWA74 provide safe places of work
  •   Ensure all activities are risk assessed with consideration of the effects of travel and working hours.
  •   Ensure all risk Assessments shall be carried out by qualified experienced individuals.
  •   Ensure that the calculation of risk includes all travel time and time on site.
  •   Ensure that all turns of duty will be planned to not exceed fourteen hours (door to door)
  •   Ensure in extraordinary circumstances where a pre-planned activity may have to exceed the planned timescales, a new risk assessment shall be carried out
  •   Ensure that risk assessments will involve consultation of those involved in the work activities to establish their opinion and fitness to continue.
  •   Ensure that this policy is understood  and is reviewed at least annually to ensure its continuing suitability.
  •   Treat any deliberate breach of this policy as a disciplinary matter.
